Planning on ordering this quilt, but not sure about size & would appreciate personal anecdotes, suggestions. I am considering the Enigma 20, in the short, slim version. I’d like to be able to occasionally layer up including puffy w/o compressing the down. I’m 5’6″, 125#, 36″ chest & hips. The Slim is 50″ and Medium is 54″ with 1 oz difference. Thoughts?

For 1 oz I’d go wider for the extra leeway. A quilt that is too small is unpleasant.  One that is a bit wider than absolutely necessary is a glorious luxury :)

I just bought a 20 degree Enigma. I got the long/wide. I’m a slim 6’ 3”, and the long only came in the wide version. Now that I have it and have tried it out, I’m glad it’s the wide.

Thx Tom for helping me with a “3 Bears” problem: choosing “not too heavy” and “not too small”, but “just right”!

Well it depends on how fat someone is   to be blunt. ….

If you’ve got a 32-in waist the regular size is more than adequate

    If you’ve got a 40 inch waist….probably not…..

I’ve opened my puffy up and laid it on top of my upper body under my 20 enigma  quilt many times with no issue…… Now I leave my sides loose… I don’t use straps…. So I consider the quilt normally good to about freezing…. And into the upper twenties when I add my light puffy across my chest.     And that’s after I added 1.5 oz to the original quilt……. It’s ratings were a bit optimistic

I have tons of room in the body….. The real issue is towards the shoulders where it gets a bit tight when it snapped around your neck, that compresses the insulation there and makes it kind of a cold spot

    If it’s under 25 I’ll bring it 10° quilt

I heard EE overstuffed their quilts 30%…

Lots say comfort limit is optimistic. I do like my Feathered Friends flicker better. Have  EE enigma 30 and a FF flicker 30. Both are great

Let us know what you think of it when it arrives. Did you get it with the neck baffle?
