Hello.  Does anyone have experience or comments on the brand and/or this particular shelter?  I browsed their site and watched a few YT vids.  This one is nice.  Shows some real world usage. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dl7-bYvD_5g

I have their “Mega” shelter, which is a 2-4 person pyramid. The shape is different than a traditional ‘mid due to 2 short cross poles near the top of the shelter that spread the canopy. The quality of the materials (fabric, webbing, guy lines, hardware) and craftsmanship are second to none.

Pretents is an offshoot of The Free Spirits. TFS’s website is here: http://www.tfsgear.com/ . The website hasn’t been updated or maintained regularly since a couple of years. TFS used to be available on AliExpress but stopped selling there about a year ago.

Pretents is the result of a collaboration between Tara Poky (HK) and Wang Jigang (China). Tara Poky’s website is here: https://www.tarapoky.com/  A page for the Pretents series is still on Tara Poky’s site but there is nothing available there at the moment. A lot of their designs remind me of old Moss designs. The soloist is like a revisited Superfly.

The Free Spirits  are concentrated nowadays mostly on the Japanese market it seems. You can check out some of their models for the Japan market here:

The Pretents Soloist is very similar to The Free Spirits Akatsuki. Like some but not all of the TFS tents, it uses a Korean silnylon that has to be among the best in the world.

I saw a review somewhere of the Soloist that complained about height of the door opening but on the YT video that you linked to it didn’t look like a problem at all.

The bluish grey color of the 30D silnylon in Alex’s photos is beautiful.

Thank you gentlemen.  That’s enough info and eye candy to bake the noodle for a while.  It seems the more I browse on sites outside the US, the more I appreciate what’s out there.  The Soloist fly height is 125cm and the inner height is 105.  Seems a bit low but nonetheless doable.  ~RL

This guy is easy to watch.  Sweden, I want to think.  He did not use a front guy line.  Bonus points if not always necessary.
