Massdrop has the Outdoor Research Helium II for $99.99 (assuming lowest price is reached).

I have had mine for a few years, and it’s a nice, light weight rain jacket for pop-up showers. I think I might prefer my wife’s Marmot Essence, but this is a great price.

The link has a referral code and Jim is rewarded for posting from that website.

I don’t mind, it’s very relevant to BPL gear and the best deal online I can find.  Anyone find any better deals?  I’m considering getting one or perhaps the Alpine Houdini.

Irrespective of its quality, and value, why do the designers of such rain jackets make them so short? (Check the photos on the model at the above link). Are these designers laboring under the impression that rain miraculously stops at the waist? The jackets (not just OR’s) need in my opinion to be another 6 inches or more in length (unless designed to be worn with a harness). (Yes, I am aware of the Z-packs long-length option to their Challenger, thank you). I would actually like a rain jacket to keep me dry in the rain – is that too much to ask? Nor am I a ceiling-scrapper, at a measly 5ft 8″.

Massdrop gives a shareable link, and yes, it happens that that link include a referral code.

Are referral codes disallowed on here? I don’t see anything forbidding that in the rules for this forum, but just now, I did check the general Forum Guidelines, which state (emphasis added):

Any post that “reviews” or otherwise “promotes” a brand, product, or service by a user who has any type of affiliation with the brand/manufacturer of that gear (including but not limited to sponsorship, affiliate marketing, employment, public relations, etc.), must include a disclosure of the relationship between the post author and the company that identifies the commercial interest.

I suppose this could be considered affiliate marketing. My interpretation of the above is not that referrals are disallowed, just that, if they are counted as “affiliate marketing,” that this fact must be disclosed. My apologies.

Anyway, I thought this was a good deal that I wanted to share. Don’t use my link if it bothers you, but either way, there’s the deal if it interests you.
