Not yet available in North America. This tent probably won’t interest many people here on BPL, but I really like the new stealthy color as well as the Mira 1 HL’s 10d silnylon fly that replaces the old 20d fly. Semi-freestanding with 3 points of ground contact. Inner tent is also a far more pleasing color than the last generation’s loud peach tone.
Weighs 30.5 oz without stakes or stuff sacks. Exped claims a higher weight, but ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk weighs everything before it goes on their site and I believe them. Tent comes with 10 stakes that weigh .5 oz each! Available now in Germany, UK and some other EU countries, but will be in America soon. https://www.exxpozed.com/exped-mira-i-hl
I have the original from a couple of years ago. Another difference is the original fly had sleeves for the tent poles, the new version has replaced that with clips.
Yea Axel, the clips should make the new Mira 1 HL much quicker and easier to set up.
That’s the old discontinued version of the Mira 1 HL in the link you posted Sam. The new ones haven’t made it to this side of the pond yet, but they will. Of course there’s no 10d silpoly I’m aware of anywhere. If there was it wouldn’t be strong enough for a tent fly anyway. 10d silnylon is already pushing the envelope, however that’s how Exped is able to get the weight down so low for a double-walled tent with DAC Featherlite poles.
