    I don’t see any pre-heat tubes and I haven’t found a photo showing otherwise but I don’t know.

If MSR do not state quite clearly that the canister can be inverted, then it is not an inverted remote canister stove.

There is a short metal tube leading to the jet, and under mild conditions this might get warm enough to allow some inverted operation, but I would not trust it for that without some extensive testing.

So 830 g and $260 for a remote canister stove which is not really usable in the snow. REALLY??? Blimey. Good tent stake hammer.
    Who would buy that???

Update: the 830 g includes the large pot. However, there are two nearly identical versions of this stove except that the pot for one of them does not work with the other one. I guess the idea is that you have to buy the whole kit each time. Marketing genius.

(For reference, my V3 remote INVERTED canister stove is ~90 g and $140.)

    Cheers

Roger. I think the $260 kit includes the ceramic frying pan.

$199 is with the 2.5L pot, which also appears to be ceramic.

    Oh, anything is possible.
But still, 830 g! This is Backpacking Light for heavens sake!
(My stove: 90 g. My Ti pot with lid for cooking for the two of us: 174 g)

    Cheers

According to MSR CSR, you can’t invert the stove/use liquid feed operation.

About the only thing I like about it is that they give a “water boiled per ounce of fuel” specification (2.3 liters boiled / ounce of fuel, also expressed as 18 liters boiling per 227-gram canister).  That is far more helpful than “time to boil a liter” (6.2 minutes for this stove) data.

Do they give the air and water temperature ?

(is there a standard for that ?)

And did they do a Jetboil?

Thanks but I’ll stay with my MSR Whisperlite Universal stove system. Three fuels, inverted canister, easy to service.

For solo 3 season I use a Brunton Crux folding canister-top stove with my clever windscreen. (Lordy I love to congratulate myself – just ask my wife.)
