Not wanting to step on anybody’s toes. I have developed these systems for budget minded backpackers/hikers.
Dec 12, 2016 at 3:56 pm #3440161Nice photos.
You might need to translate “bespoke designs” for the US based audience,
Dec 12, 2016 at 5:21 pm #3440168Custom/made to order.
Bespoke is one of those odd English words that are not in use in Australia.
I wonder if Canadians and or New Zealanders  use it ?
I used to write articles on cameras for the main Melbourne newspaper.
On one the editor replaced a word of mine  with “bespoke”, I told him that I did not use words like that , in fact I did not even know what it meant.
Of course the article came out with “bespoke” in it.
Dec 12, 2016 at 6:42 pm #3440178Yup. Years ago when I lived in the UK I got myself a very nice “bespoke dress suit” for work the month when the Pound Stirling was worth about US $.80. Â I still have to think twice about what it means though when I see the word in print.
Dec 13, 2016 at 9:25 am #3440259Any videos on YouTube showing your burner and cone? I like the idea behind the burner being higher.
Edit: found a video review-Â https://youtu.be/5xJzjjRybEQ
Dec 18, 2016 at 9:18 am #3440887Well Franco, seems like English bespoke is still use in New Zealand. These are on the way there.
Dec 18, 2016 at 12:39 pm #3440930I will have to disagree with Franco, bespoke is in common use in Australia, well at least among the local gear makers and people who buy their bespoke designs.
Stove looks good Norman. I just purchased a Caldera Cone but I may be in touch soon.
Dec 18, 2016 at 10:06 pm #3440993Hi Norman,
I have a Trail Designs Sidewinder Caldera Cone. Please tell me how your storm stove is essentially different from a Caldera Cone system? (Aside from your burner)
Dec 19, 2016 at 2:40 am #3440999Basically Eric, my split cones can be made to fit the majority of pots and stack inside in a vertical position. The closure is much simpler and less prone to damage.Connecting the top to the lower half is more secure IMHO. The ratio of the base to top opening gives a larger more stable footprint. My burners are uncomplicated,a soda can adapted to made an efficient, non spill unit. Will burn 30ml of fuel in 18- 19 minutes weighing just 9 grams. They are supplied with an airtight, snaptop lid container.Guaranteeing no contamination of fuel when stored inside your pot. Cones are very stable cooking  set- ups and have been used as such for a few hundred years, old methods adapted for travelling light with modern materials.
Dec 22, 2016 at 12:27 pm #3441520I forgot to add Eric,My cones are pre-formed, in a conical shape. They are not flat and then rolled to fit in your pot.
Dec 22, 2016 at 8:10 pm #3441577Your stove looks like it has “home insulation” as absorbing material, is that correct?
Dec 22, 2016 at 8:34 pm #3441579I could be mistaken but I don’t think this thead conforms to the rules of the gear deal forum. There is no special offer to BPL members.
Dec 22, 2016 at 11:34 pm #3441594No Dan, It is not ” home insulation”.
Dec 23, 2016 at 7:16 am #3441604I agree with Matthew.
Dec 23, 2016 at 9:50 am #3441628What is the “deal” on your toaks 750 handleless pot, I don’t see any price mentioned.
Dec 23, 2016 at 10:05 am #3441629Dan Y’s deal would be that it is only available to BPLers, I believe.
