New uberlight competitor?
Jan 9, 2025 at 5:33 am #3826094I saw an R value of 2.4 and a weight of 8.3 oz for a size regular somewhere.

Jan 9, 2025 at 8:15 am #382610410 D fabric lol (the Uberlite had 15D) – I’ll let others do a dive in the deep end of the pool at $200, and give it a year or two for the reports. Too, 2.4R isn’t very comfortable for me anymore – I definitely prefer a higher R value. Summer time in the Appalachinas R2.4would be fine. Here I prefer something warmer.
I noticed in the youtube comments the complaints had already started about it not being available in wide. I was tempted to write, since it has a lifetime warranty, Nemo doesn’t want heavy folks trying this 10D pad lol!
Jan 9, 2025 at 10:16 am #382611720″ wide is a deal breaker for me. Numb elbows and hands is no fun.
Jan 9, 2025 at 12:36 pm #3826135@Brad W how do you get numb elbows and hands? I’m not quite following.

My shoulders are wide. With a 20″ wide pad my elbows and hands rest on the ground, off the pad. This leads them to go numb. Before I had a wide pad I would put my hands in my pockets but that’s not much fun.

There’s a new Tensorâ„¢ in town ðŸ¤
INTRODUCING: the Tensor Elite ultralight sleeping pad.
An ethereal 240 grams, this will be NEMO’s lightest pad and the lightest insulated air pad on the market, period.
The only thing we didn’t cut? The performance.
✅ Still quiet (no potato chip bag “crunch”)
✅ Still stable (thanks, horizontal baffles!)
✅ Notably comfortable (3 inches of cushioning)
✅ Durable (custom ultralight 10D CORDURA® nylon protects from punctures)Visit the link to learn more and shop now: https://bit.ly/4fVoXGL
Jan 16, 2025 at 6:35 pm #3826635R value of 2.4?
No thanks. Plus, it looks to be fragile. However: for summer backpackers at lower altitudes, I can see how this pad might be pretty sweet.
I need a good night’s sleep! for me, a dependable pad is essential. As such, I’m willing to spend a few more ounces on a more robust pad with better r value.
Jan 16, 2025 at 7:51 pm #3826641When i sit on the uberlite the ends bend up. The baffles are horizontal so each one bends like a hinge
I wonder if the tensor is better
Jan 17, 2025 at 6:02 am #3826646It will be interesting to track the feedback with this pad over the next few years.
Like some SUL gear, this may fall in the “Stupid Ultralight” category rather than Super Ultralight.”
Time will tell…
