I wanted to transition to a single pot setup that could serve the purposes of boiling water and as a mug, so I got a snowpeak 600 mug and one of the 4 dog lids for it. I really like my snowpeak gigapower stove, but it’s always annoyed me that I don’t have a windscreen for it, so I got a strip of titanium from titanium goat, cut it to fit inside the mug, and then built this windscreen to work with the stove. There were competing objectives between trying to get it low enough to protect the flame but high enough to allow the use of the controls and to keep the canister cool, so I thought I’d see what everyone thought of it.

And then if fits nicely in the pot:

I use an MSR fold-up aluminum windscreen that I cut lower for my 3 cup Trail Designs pot.

-> Also I use a cut down pie plate for a heat shield between the canister and burner. I cut a hole in the center so it just fits over the canister’s threaded valve. Then my Brunton Crux stove screws on holding the pie plate heat reflector in place.

-> The windscreen sits on top of the pie plate heat reflector.

-> I’ve bent the edges of the pie plate reflector up 1/4″  all around to hold the windscreen in place.

-> I cut the heat reflector in half and re-conected it with Gorilla duct tape on the underside. This permits it to be folded for better storage. When held in place with the burner it stays flat.
