does anyone have experience with this wind hoodie?

I’m looking to replace my enlightened equipment copperfield 7d which has been ripped up. the fabric for the katabatic crest is pertex quantum air 7d and 0.55ozy and a men’s medium weighs 1.8oz. just wondering how breathable it is. I found the 7d copperfield pretty amazing when moving

Are you on our mailing list? The August 4 email had some info about current windshirt options including the Katabatic Crest.

The popular and highly rated MH Kor Airshell uses a 20D Pertex Quantum Air variant. It has high MVTR and moderate CFM, which is the sweet spot that we usually want for windshirts. The Patagonia Airshed Pro Pullover uses a different variant of Pertex Quantum Air, and scored similar MVTR but high CFM, which makes it less of a windshirt and more like just a shirt with some wind resistance. We tested both in the Shell Game article.

AFAIK, the Katabatic Crest has not been tested. An educated guess is that it probably breathes well, but may not provide as much wind resistance as other windshirts. Ryan said that he liked his in the newsletter.

If you get one, please let us know how it works out for you. If you also have a Dooy, then it would be interesting to know how they compare.

katabatic crest seems like a winner, according to the bpl newsletter. I’m going to give it a try
