“Good golly that’s a lot of miles even supported.”
And what a year to attempt it, given snowpack. Plus, it can’t have the kind of drama of a JMT FKT in that this last happens over a few days and one can follow along easily. The PCT?
I’ve sometimes expressed my skepticism about the healthiness of a FKT attempt on the JMT. When one is hallucinating and loses 10 pounds in three days, and suffers immense pain–it’s not healthy. This must go quadruple about the PCT. Frankly I don’t see the point. How to ruin a beautiful hike by turning it into a competition and excersize of the will, at the expense of enjoyment–and health.
