    Anyone know what this type of mushroom is.  Western Pennsylvania.

    No idea.  Even if it isn’t poisonous, a slug is on it.  Just leave it.

    I need a more isometric/side view – is it depressed in the center top?  If so, it’s possibly a milkcap Lactarius.  Milkcaps are confirmed in the field by cutting the gills – latex should seep out.  It’s possibly L. torminosus or L. pubescens, which usually grow near birches (mycorrhizal).  They are poisonous in America.

    Some more colorful milkcaps (red or blue) are edible and easier to identify with certainty.
