Hey guys! I’m new to the site but I’m loving it so far. Planning a 2 night – 3day thru hike on the Art Loeb Trail. Love the idea of hiking it northbound. I’m looking for any advice you guys can offer up: best spots to camp, water sources, etc. Just trying to figure out where I need make camp each night to finish it in three days. P.S I have a hammock setup and ultralight go-to-ground option. Looking forward to anything ya’ll can offer up!

    Locale: Southeast Tennessee

I have done it a few times, but none recently, last in 2010 I think, so I will look at the map and some old pictures tonight to jog my memory.  The north side of the BlueRidge parkway is the gem of this hike. so plan on spending more time there.  The balds just north of the parkway are very nice.

    Make note of this: https://www.fs.usda.gov/detail/nfsnc/alerts-notices/?cid=stelprd3832543

Flower Gap is a pretty spot to camp and well situated for the last day’s hike . You’d have a short walk west to the spring east of Shining Rock Gap for water.
