I couldn’t find a single photo online of the Big Agnes fly creek HV UL2 in olive green (or any of their tents in this color) recently. In case anyone else is wondering what they look like in real life, here’s mine.
It’s remarkably drab and the fabric is not very shiny at all on the outside. Great for wild camping invisibility, yet on the inside it’s still quite bright & pleasant. Not as happy as the ash/yellow version though.
It comes with 11 fairly nice 0.41oz DAC v-stakes, but It’s sporting some 0.23oz y-stakes in the photos which I prefer (similar to z-packs 6-inch sonics). Shown with a 2.96oz MYOG polycro groundsheet underneath. Thin shock cord used for groundsheet tie outs so only one peg required for groundsheet, inner and fly corners. Also keeps it centered during setup & tensioning.
Anyway, I’m really happy with it so far. Hope to use it a bunch over the next few months!

Oct 28, 2017 at 10:07 am #3499042In general, I seem far more prepared to perceive something as green than most other people I know.
It’s green. Olive too, if you like. ;-)
Oct 28, 2017 at 7:39 pm #3499111Haha, it’s definitely some shade of green. Somewhere between silvery evergreen and drab green. The photos don’t capture it very well. It’s a good color for where i’m spending most of my time camping right now – heathland, moorland, fells, highlands, forests.
Weight for tent, poles,11 pegs, groundsheet & stuffsacks = 2 lbs 5oz
Weight for tent & poles = 1 lb 15.4oz
The HV (high volume) updates over the previous fly creek are noticeable. Better vestibule door (actually covers inner door now) and significantly more spacious feeling on the inside due to steeper walls at the head and foot end. Less solid fabric on the inner than previous version which is bad for winter, but great for camping in good weather without the fly.
The only change I’m probably going to make is to add some linelok 3s. The precut tie outs are spot-on size wise, but if the outer sags during rain, tensioning everything up again will be made easier.
Oct 28, 2017 at 7:56 pm #3499113Well, I do sing Green, Green Grass of Home a lot, even though I’m a Time Lord from Gallifrey…
Congrats on the new tent… looks nice.
Oct 28, 2017 at 9:17 pm #3499134That color looks like the lichen-covered rocks in Pennsylvania. Very good for not being seen. Something in a darker green would stand out more often because things are only bright green for a small part of the year but the rocks aren’t going away.
