The summer monsoon rains often flood all sorts of canyon systems in the “4 corners” states. Probably a good time to go elsewhere for an overnight tenting trip as it’s also hot most of the time. Also if the rains are persistent, it floods out the critters who aren’t happy ..especially evicted rattlesnakes who have no sense of humor about the whole thing (nothing like seeing mountain bikers forced to wear snake chaps when riding through those conditions).
