I understand there is a spring at the campground for drinking water. I plan on hiking to the river and back which is about 15 miles round trip. Anyone know if there are water sources along the way so I can carry less water (my understanding is that havasu creek is not for drinking)? This will play a role if I bring a 3 oz day pack or something more substantial. thanks for any replies.
