I was shopping in a grocery in Barcelona and saw a pair of thin foam inserts. I am getting rid of my xero shoes which I’ve been using for sandals/water crossing on my rtw trip, but would like something if possible for my AT thru at the end of the day at least. What’s interesting about these are that they are coated on one side with thin leather. SPANISH leather. The inner snob in me is pleased. I was thinking to wear these leather side on the ground? Or should it be the other way around? On the packaging it says leather by foot to absorb odor, but I’m more concerned about foam not getting pierced.
Anyway for 1.5€ it’s a no brainer to try. I don’t have a scale here, but feels like it’s an ounce or less for the pair (uncut). I plan to use zpacks shock cord and do a no toe lace similar to xero shoes (I don’t like something between toes).
