I want to do 10 lakes the last week in August coming for AZ.  I want to make the trip mileage worth it.  The TM shuttle is unreliable  for the season.  So I was thinking  of starting at White Wolf to Pate, Return Creek, Glen Aulin, May lake or 1st lake in 10 Lakes, Grant lakes, then out.  I know GG of TM will be warm has anyone done this and is it a crazy idea?   I am open to suggestions but I want to hike 10 lakes area to fish and swim.  I haven’t done that area.  I am just looking to add some mileage and cover some more areas that I haven’t seen.  I have looked at doing an out and back for Virginia Canyon, I am open to that as well. Any thoughts would be welcomed.

    Thanks

    Eric

do you mean the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne? Well yes it will be very hot, but it climbs to somewhat cooler elevations soon enough. Of course, climbing in 90+ degree temps is difficult. Still, the route runs by a river, so water is available.

But why? Why not go to Tuolumne meadows and plan a hike that stays at cooler elevations? Unless you’ve already seen everything in the area and want to complete a list.

Sorry if I’ve misunderstood you, but you mention Pate valley so I assume you mean the grand canyon etc.
