I’d like to hike from the North Rim to the South Rim in the next two weeks but doing it solo and all the shuttles being shuttered, what’s a decent option for a ride from my car at the South rim to the start of the trail? Or am I stuck doing Rim to rim to rim?

The paved road south from Jacob’s Lake is typically gated until early May.  Depending on snow conditions it’s possible to drive around the gate on dirt roads and get back most, if not all of the way, to the North Rim quite a bit earlier, but one has to be prepared for snow patches and cutting deadfall off the road.

So possible, maybe, depending on this particular winter, but not something easily done.
