    @calimero

    Hello,
    I’m trying to find a general purpose setup for some 5 day hikes in British Columbia. Weather will be between 0-15C (32-59F) and will most likely include a few days of rain. I was wondering if i could get some opinion, advise, recommendation to lighten and improve the following list.

    I don’t have all the gear yet, and did not get my hands on the MLD burn yet. In your best estimate, should it all fit in the pack?

    It’s currently sitting at less than half the weight i carried last year but due to cost i’d like to avoid buying unnecessary items hence the request of opinions and all :)

    Thank you for helping me in my lightening quest, and best of luck in yours,
    Olivier

    45m of Paracord seems like a lot of heavy cord.

    Your stakes will weigh more than 11g total.

    I’m guessing you are going to be pretty tight with 5 days of food and an 850ml pot but you should be able to cram it all in.

    How about a bear bag?

    you could just put your ID and some cash in a ziplock bag instead of a wallet,TOOTHPASTE TABLETS  instead of a tube, just bring enough tablets for the trip you are taking. A lot of places sell mini repackaging containers including some pharmacies ect. but here are a couple of examples AMAZON and LITESMITH .

    @matthewkphx you are right, 45m of rope is a lot. But as a group item it doesn’t seem like that much? How much do you guys carry for hanging food?

    Stakes are at 11g x8 for a total of 88g.

    Thanks for mentioning the bear bag, I’ll need to add a pack liner, food bag, clothes bag.

    @annapurna
    good catch on the First Aid kit. I trimmed the fat already but didn’t weight it yet and there is more fat to cut. Thanks for the video, I like his leukotape idea.
