Recently I ordered a FJERN Artis II down hooded jacket for $105 plus minimal shipping (I think $10). FJERN appears to be a cottage company in UK. This jacket has 6 ounces of down fill at 750 cu in. I do simple “Warmth” measurement by multiplying the down fill ounces (6 oz) X fill vol (750) and get a warmth factor of 4500. This warmth factor would compare to similar jackets like: Mountain Equipment Skyline; Montbell Mirage Parka (Closeout); RAB Continuum Hoody… etc, etc. It is not Ultralight Stupid!… I do not know how one keeps warm at camp in jackets that have only 3-4 ounces of down fill (Decathlon, Ghost Whisperer, Patagonia Down Sweater)… The jacket scales out at 16.3 oz and seems to be of fine quality (but have not field tested yet). The only downside is all the “sewn through” stitch channels that could create cold spots?? The baffles are only about 2 inches apart (so many baffles); We’ll see, but for $105 I’m loving it so far. Also I have purchased many great discounted base-layers and technical tee shirts (merino blends) at great deals from http://www.sportpursuit.com
