    Hello, This is my first post but I have been a reader for a long time. I wanted to thank everyone for their helpful posts as I used many of the tips to create my first packs. Below are some pictures of my second attempt at a pack.  It is a combo of a bunch of ideas of other packs etc.

    The body is Hex70, the pockets Robic 420.  The belt is removable and is attached with Velcro and  5/8 webbing on each side. There is a foam and aluminum stay removable frame.  My guess is it is around 35-40L and ways 22oz with belt and frame.

    Thanks again everyone

    That looks really good.  There is a lot of really nice work on this site.

    Very nice! There are a lot of great features incorporated into that pack.

    I’d be interested to hear your opinions after some use. Particularly interested in how the velcro attachment handles weight transfer to the hips.

    @retiredJerry Thanks and I agree

    Thanks, the belt is similar to the pre 2016 gossamer gear belt so I think it will be marginal, hoping the webbing attachments help add some stability but ultimately my next pack I want to get the belt attached directly to the frame in some way.  It’s all new to me and fun to experiment
