My Western Mountaineering Alpinlite bag is a moisture magnet.  Any condensation at all gets it wet.  Just my breath gets the area around the hood wet, not to mention frost and dew.  Do these bags not come with a DWR factory applied?  Should I apply one myself?  I have not had any luck with the few garments I have applied McNett’s ReviveX to.  One rain jacket wet out worse after application. The WM website states that ReviveX was the best aftermarket DWR they have found.  If I do the DWR myself can I do it without having to wash it as the McNett website suggest or do I need to wash it first.  The bag is not really ready for a washing in my opinion.
