What do you think about the use of different weight dcf for repair tape? I’m speaking of having the adhesive backed with .5 versus a heavier .74 dcf or even using the lighter .34 versions?
Do you want this repair tape to strengthen or just cover up? Is the answer different if we are talking about a “seam sealing” tape versus repair/patch tape?
If not only about tear strength but abrasion resistence, 1.0 oz should be used to patch a 1.0 oz ground sheet, because the poly film on 1.0 is thicker than that of 0.74. For other cases, typically “the same type” should be fine, for example, 0.74 patch for a 0.74 shelter, and the same color.
