So, while I’m waiting for an underquilt to be made, I used a sheet of this foam factory CLF:

Which seems to be the same stuff used in the GG thinlight pad:
http://gossamergear.com/thinlight-hammock-pad.html
In 1/4Â Inch thickness for my hammock pad on a recent overnight. Â I made a sort of cross shape out of it to cover my shoulders with wings. Â The good news is it was comfortable, doesn’t slide around at all (it has some stickiness to it, unlike blue foam) and it did indeed cover me all night long.
The bad news is that this nowhere NEAR enough insulation for 35 degrees (which was the temp that night). Â I didn’t die of hypothermia, but my back/butt were cold all night long, making sleeping very hard. Â I had read on other forums of similar thicknesses being used around these temps — maybe im just wussy.
Anyway, not a total waste. Â I could see using this as a supplement to the underquilt, or may just cut it up into rectangular sit-pads and cover with tyvek.
