Here’s my dilemma and my potential solution…

I find that the Cold Avenger pro mask rubber breathing (Darth Vader) section of the mask is not able to sit near the top of the bridge of my nose (where I would find it most comfortable) unless the material sides of the mask is literally covering my eyes. So I need to lower it which I find the weight of the mask is now pressing down on the center of my nose and is very uncomfortable. If I had the full balaclava version this problem might not be so bad (as the top of my head would support most of the weight of the mask) but it wouldn’t work as well in combination with my other gear. Plus I’m sure I’d still not want it sitting on the center of my nose and so if I pulled it up higher I still won’t be able to see. (I carry a buff and a MLD Apex balaclava with an added zipper down the front side)

I was thinking about using a NIOSH dust mask that has a mini plastic front with rubber valve that and removing the valve and maybe adding a few small holes if breathing still feels too restricted. I feel like that might work just as well as the Cold Avenger mask, be lighter, more packable, fit the face much better and more convenient to use with my other gear.

Has anyone tried this? Any thoughts or comments?
