    @exhausted

    I’m sure this topic has been discussed here. Looking to buy a pot that the Bushbuddy will fit nicely inside.  I know the Snowpeak 900 will work. Any other suggestions?  Thanks.

    I’m guessing that you’ve already read this on the Bushbuddy website, but for others who might stumble across this thread.

    The Bushbuddy Stove will fit inside the Snow Peak 900, Evernew ECA522 Pasta Pot M, Evernew ECA267 (lid will not close, must be set on top and placed in a stuff sack), Evernew ECA402, Evernew ECA265, MSR Titan Kettle (lid will not close), and other similar sized pots.

    Other than that, I have no clue. :)

    I have a home-brew Bush Buddy made from soup cans.   I use a Walmart grease pot because you get soot on them and that is my dedicated “wood fire” setup.    Whatever the thing fits into as long as you have a good handle on it will work.    You don’t have to worry about efficiency with wood stoves because you are surrounded by fuel.

    Here is a video of Shug Emery BushBuddy Wood Stove with Companion Alcohol Burner .

    He is using the IMUSA 12 cm Pot .

    It works great with the Snow Peak 900. Fits right in.

    Mine fits perfectly in a 1L Primus TiTech pot that I got on sale for about half price…can’t remember exactly where.

    I  have a Caldera Cone ti Sidewinder with the optional Inferno insert that makes it a double-walled “gasifier” wood burner stove like the Canadian BushBuddy.

    BUT… unlike the BB, the Sidewinder and larger Tri-Ti stoves let the fitted pot sit down into the stove to conserve heat for more efficiency.

    And in alcohol burner and ESBIT burner mode the pot sits even further down, conserving more heat and letting the sides of the pot use the heat. After all, alcohol and ESBIT fuels, with their low energy density, need all the help they can get.

    So I’m suggesting that BushBuddy owners make an attachable windscreen for the burner area to capture heat that would otherwise be lost.

    Another vote for the SP 900 – the fit is perfect.

    Efficiency just isn’t that important with a wood burner.   You have all the fuel you need and don’t have to carry an extra ounce.
