    Guys/Gals,

I really need your help on this backpack. I purchased the 55L Gregory Z Pack on eBay and when I received it there was no back stays in it. Someone had cut both sides of the top of the pack and removed the stay. I need a picture of this stay or even a diagram will work. I want to replace this and sew the pack back together BUT without something to go by I have no idea what shape to make it. Can anyone help me?

Why not contact Gregory directly and ask them for replacement stays. They use hollow tube stays, you’ll not likely be able to easily replicate them.

    Not what you asked but…

Was the condition of the pack clearly stated in the eBay listing? If not, and you expected to receive a pack that was intact and to factory specifications, you may want to file a complaint, see if you can return the pack for a refund and find another unmodified pack.  Depending on the care taken when the stays were removed, I would be concerned as to whether it is possible that it could be repaired back to factory spec.

I have contacted Gregory but they haven’t gotten back to me yet. Maybe tomorrow. I also contacted the person I bought they backpack from on eBay and he did not know that the stays were missing, even tho he did refund part of my money, so both of us lost on that deal. If Gregory doesn’t have this back stays, then I am going to attempt to fabricate my own. Just wish I had a picture or diagram as to what it looks like. Anyway, thanks for everyone’s help.
