I have admired the Xmid for some time and in an attempt to save some money and get one after missing one of the releases I attempted to make my own. In the end I saved a little but but life got in the way so I probably didn’t have it much sooner. I finally had the chance to take my X-mid 2P clone out or a weekend trip with my son. Fly is Sil-poly 1.1 XL from ripstopbytheroll. Inner floor is also Sil-poly 1.1 (had extra and I intend to always use a footprint) and mesh is 0.5 oz n0-see-um. Inner turned out functional but ugly (the mesh was a pain) so only sharing pics of the fly. With all cordage and seam sealing the combined weight is 1,162 g (41 oz). Still might add a toggle or something to take a bit of strain off the door zippers but otherwise I think it is done.  Ground was a bit uneven but I probably got a better pitch here than in my back yard and on the first try in the dark. I think that speaks to the great design more than my skill.

Looks good to me.  Did you design the peaks to have the trekking pole handle up or tip up?

Thanks. I decided to keep the handle up.  I made a little webbing pockets to help hold the handles in place.
