I wanting to know which Itineraries will be offered for 2016, I know they rotate but I don't know how many rotations they have. I still have the book from 2010, the 2014 is still on line and I can probably find other years.
One line question…
2016 itineraries will be the same as what previous years? I'm sure they tweek them but it will give me an idea.
Jan 4, 2015 at 8:04 am #2161388From what I have seen there is no set rotation. They do change some from year to year. I do not think there is any way to know for sure until March 2016. They usually do not wholesale change from year to year, but have. My advise was to pick areas and camps and programs that the scouts have the most interest in and then match to the guide when it comes out in March of 2016.
Jan 6, 2015 at 8:15 am #2161999The Archive of TREKS books and other documents is located:

TREKS books are under Camping Programs/12-day and 7-day Treks/Itineraries
Comparing previous years' treks can be a chore. As mentioned, some years have minimal changes, some are maxi-change. Best is to pick areas of interest and then find a good fit once the TREKS book comes out.
Jan 9, 2015 at 4:36 am #2162880I understood it was on a rotation, I'll get a 2015 and see how it's differ from a 2014. I know the itinerary from 2010 isn't on 2014, not even close to it. Thanks for the help though
Mar 25, 2015 at 10:38 am #21858902015 just came out last week and online registration is April 1st and 2nd, depending on arrival date. As mentioned above, pick the program locations you want and go from there because there isn't much time to differentiate between previous years from when the treks book goes live and when you have to select your trek.
I did 12 in 2013 and trek 12 this year only has one very minor tweak.
Mar 28, 2015 at 8:38 am #2186957In 2012 my crew went on Itinerary #8 which had a stated mileage of 57. When we finished we thought their mileage was way off as we went almost 90 miles! It amuses me that in the 2015 Itinerary guide the exact same itinerary is now #16 and has a stated mileage of 73.
We just got through picking our top 5 itinerary choices for this summer. Our crew came up with two things that we absolutely HAD to have… going over Mt Phillips and the Tooth of Time. That allowed us to eliminate all but around 10 itineraries. Then I put all 10 of those itineraries in a spreadsheet and listed the other programs that were a high priority. That narrowed it down to 5 itineraries. I was actually surprised at a couple of the itineraries because I would have never chosen them just looking at the camp rendezvous selections. Even though they weren't my first choice of camps, the programs were there.
The first question we asked, though, was did we want to spend more time hiking or more time in programs? Overwhelmingly everybody wanted to do more programs.
I personally like the living history camps, and our first selection has five of those.
