Eagle Creek makes a lot of duffle bags. They are very durable and waterproof. One that I have is large enough that I can crawl inside it and zip it closed. Outdoor Products makes a lot of thinner duffle bags. They are moderately durable, waterproof, and much lighter. These have zippers along the long side. Military duffle bags are even more durable, but heavy, and they have an opening on one end.

Dec 28, 2014 at 10:50 am #2159603Hey Mike,
If you go on skipulk.com they have a belt/harness system. They also have a duffel made to fit with the Paris Expedition sleds.
Personally, I find using a simple skijor belt more than sufficient for my pulk. I just wear the belt backwards so that the padding is on my stomach and the clip is at the back. Alternatively, you could find a skijor belt with two d rings on the sides and use that.
Depending on where you live, you may or may not need a waterproof duffel. I know I don't up here in our cold dry winters. The features I want in a duffel are burly zippers that won't freeze up easily and material that won't crack or break in cold temperatures.
Cheers.

the harness at skipulk looks great, but don't want to spend that much (have $50 into the pulk)
you're right, very water resistant would do it- large zipper would be nice
Dec 28, 2014 at 12:23 pm #2159620Mike, how will you fasten the harness to the pulk?
In the old days when we didn't know any better, we just used 1/4" rope. Then we found that if we put sections of PVC pipe over the rope, it worked better since it prevents the rope length from compressing.

Dec 28, 2014 at 12:40 pm #2159624Bob- the pulk would be connected to the belt (see above pic), the harness would just spread the load a little
I see fjellpuken (say that three times fast :) also carries one, but doesn't look like it's available stateside either
Mountainsmith sells what they call "strapettes", might be able to rig that to a belt??
