I have decided to transport the alcohol for my stove in a platy. I realize that alcohol has a drying affect on rubber gaskets allowing white gas sigg like bottles to leak. Does storing alcohol in a platy for long durations (ie. between trips) shorten the lifepan of the platy?
I've been using the "Little nipper" Platy w/o problems for over four years. The plastic does not seem to have been effected at all. I use the standard SLX Denatured Alcohol from hardware stores–buy a gallon to save $$$.
Also, suggest you use these for great flow control and minimal spillage.
