thought those who are interested managing your gear lists and pack weights would enjoy http://www.TheGearLoft.com.
I’m the creator of it, you may know me from my outdoor related YouTube channel MaddyTheGoose.
I love the outdoors and the gear I bring with me, and that’s what inspired me to create The Gear Loft. It’s a website that lets you create gear lists (everything you put in your backpack) that will track the weight of everything you put in your pack to help you keep things manageable. It has an easy to use interface and you can share your lists when you’re done for others to see and comment on.
It’s relatively new so there are a lot more features coming like gear reviews, great deals on gear you’re looking for and a bunch more. Feedback of you like, don’t like or what you’re looking for in something like this would be awesome!
Things are going great with it but I need a little help to push it to the next level so I’ve started a Kickstarter campaign. By pledging to this campaign it will help to turn The Gear Loft into a great new resource for all of us gear heads and outdoor enthusiasts :) You can find out more here https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/777152408/the-gear-loft
Well, I hope you enjoy the site and if you can help out, awesome! Every pledge makes a big difference. If not, that’s cool, I hope the site is useful for you and is something you really enjoy using.
Cheers,
TroyDec 12, 2014 at 8:38 am #2156099It looks pretty cool. I sent you some feedback on the site itself. I am confused about how I would go about putting all my gear into a list and then choosing what is coming with me on a particular trip… letting me make a particular 'Pack' for each expedition, and letting me look back at past trips to see what I schlepped.
Overall though it looks like it really has potential.
Keep up the good work.

I cant see the need for anyone needing a website to track their gear weight.
To share it with others easily, maybe. But thats a beginner thing for the most part.
