Fiber Optic proposal for Yellow and Grand Teton

The concept of wilderness continues to evolve. People want connectivity.
I admit part of it makes me a little sad.
"I admit part of it makes me a little sad."
More than a little sad for this old school hiker. It pretty much puts paid to the idea of wilderness, at least in the Lower 48 plus Hawaii. I suppose it was inevitable with the rise of the connected generation and the opportunity for a corporation to make money. My biggest fear is that fiber optic will be the camel's nose sneaking into the tent, to be followed by countless other commercial intrusions that cater to the wants of the instant gratification generation. I can see it now, pizza and beer delivered by Amazon drones…. :(
It's been a few years since we traveled through Yellowstone and I can't remember what the cell phone signal situation was like. A few years ago, it was amusing to watch people film Old Faithful with full sized tablets. I had no way of knowing if they had 3g service or not so I don't think this will impact my visit to the park.
My parents work online as travel agents. The ability to take their work with them frees them to travel. When we take vacations, every now and then they have to field a call or take care of something for a client but 80% of something is better than 100% of nothing.
Seeing cell towers in Yellowstone would make me lose my $#!+ however.
