When the photo upload pop-up comes up, it is blank and stalls, so I cannot upload photos.
I have to use ctrlW or ESC to close the pop-up.
PS, using Google chrome browser…
Oct 16, 2014 at 12:49 pm #2142154I don't have a direct answer to your question but maybe you can derive something from my procedure in all its gory detail. Probably more than you wanted to know but it might help the next person. It seems to work the same for Firefox and Chrome.
After clicking on Post Reply you should see this:
Click on Insert Image at Cursor then you should see this:
Put something in the Description box. Don't leave it blank or you will be caught in an endless loop. Click Choose File, browse to your photo location and double click it. Click on Upload Image. Then you should see this:
Click Close Window. Then something like this should appear:
This gobbledygook is your photo. Add text as necessary then click Post Message when you have completed your work.
Note that the Description that you earlier typed into a box will appear in the string just before the width. These descriptions aid in editing and making sure everything is in correct order when you are composing your post. You do not "see" the photos when you are composing; you do see the alphanumeric strings. Somewhat counter-intuitively (to me, anyway) is that the Description does not carry over into your final post; you must add captions manually in your writeup. Add spacing between your text and photos as desired to "sanitize" it.
While I was writing this I discovered that I no longer needed to reduce my photo size with third party software prior to inserting it into the post. It is done automatically when hitting Upload Image. A new feature? Nice!!!

Yes, and the clue about spacing is important. Otherwise, the gobbledygook can get inserted where the cursor happened to be right then, which is probably not where you wanted it.
If you let the image size be way too large for this forum, it makes big problems.

Oct 16, 2014 at 2:55 pm #2142236Yes, I've uploaded a bunch of photos before and know how to use the pop-up and how to size photos appropriately.
The problem is that the Upload Image pop-up just remained blank and there was a system mini-freeze. Ctrl-Esc or Ctrl-W closed the pop-up.
I now think the problem is Chrome because I used Explorer to upload them just fine.
Just tried again on Chrome and got the same result – nuthin'! Went thru Chrome settings and all seems well, so I dunno if maybe BPL just doesn't like Chrome any more.
