Hello all,
I am looking for a website editor program and is preferable free but I will pay for one if I need to.
My co worker uses Adobe Dreamweaver but I cannot find a version that doesn't have a monthly fee attached to it.
If anyone can find one could you please link it to me?
I do not need anything special but I need it to write the code for me.
In other words, i'd like to edit the website itself and the program would write the HTML code.
Does anyone know any programs I can use.
Oh and i'm on a Mac.
I have downloaded a free version of "Taco HTML Edit" Which is a good program from the looks but I can't edit the page itself. I have to type in the code…. unfortunately I do not know any code :/
Thanks!

i'd steer you to learning wordpress as it's fairly easy to produce a decent web site without having to write any code.
most of the programs that attempt to "do it for you" simply don't work very well.
there's a reason good web developers can command six-figure salaries (and why even bad ones can make well above u.s median income levels.)

look no further for a full featured (you don't have to use them all) website code generator. it's like using a page layout program, except when you're done, it makes it into code and shows you how it will look on the net. it's hella fast too.
FW does NOT turn your work into unsearchable pdf files or jpegs, it writes real html (or whatever version is in use now ) code." i'd like to edit the website itself and the program would write the HTML code."
that is just what Freeway does, and it does it quite nicely. all to euro disabled persons standards too !
the tech support forum is hall-of-fame. and just Reeks of British graciousness. (they do that … when they try )
you can subscribe to the forum ( it's free), and every day you will get answers to questions you don't even have yet.
Freeway is written by real people, who like the rest of us, need to eat. so, it is not free. but, it is quite reasonable. and the updates have been reasonable as well.
i suspect FW7 runs as far back as Snow Leopard ( 10.6.8 ), and is capable of making them responsive to all those new (and annoying) smart phones with not a great deal of effort.
at any rate, i use FW, and i love the entire experience. i host at MacHighway, which is also sweet, as the directions of setting up your site parameters are Simple and Color Coded.
cheers,
