I went to Lake Ediza at the end of July with a couple of friends. There was a lot of smoke from the fire in Yosemite, but despite the air quality, it was still a great trip. Crowded place…proximity to JMT?….anyway, It was way more people than I like seeing on the trail, but I managed. Didn't bring my camera but did get some pano snaps with my phone.
Backdrop to Ediza at sunrise
Day hike to Iceberg and Cecile Lakes
Thought Iceberg Lake was fish-less, but caught a 18" lunker of a brookie. The smoke was pretty bad up here and at Cecile.
Heading back to Ediza
Pano looking down at Ediza
Solo hike off trail in a very active area for wildlife. Didn't stay long, too many beady eyes on me.
Goodbye Ediza! Hope to see you with some snow soon.
The shot of Iceberg Lake looks like you were slightly to the left of the outlet stream.
I was there two years ago with more snow, and Iceberg Lake was aptly named. There was a berg half in the water and half going up the hill toward Cecile.
You remember it well, i was to the left of the outlet.
It sure is pretty…never made it to Minaret though…another time. I mangled my leg on our way to Cecile, stupidly climbing the steeper chute to the left of the route most people take.
