Interesting. I suspect they won't be all that durable, if my experience with homewrap and "kite" tyvek is any indication.
What would be cool and a lot more durable is to use the tyvek as a base/underlayer and then fuse or bond dyneema, spectra or other UHMWPE based cord or large fibers over the surface on the outside to increase abrasion and puncture resistance as these will be the main weaknesses of such tyvek based shoes. A light nylon mesh on the inside would help protect the tyvek from inside abrasion wear. If done right, would make an interesting WPB shoe.
