I'm on a new bent to try to find what works the best in the field for being able to take stable shots. I'm evaluating the zipshot, i'm looking into TrailPix and now this comes along.

looks to be around 70 dollars which makes it the most expensive. It has more versatility depending on your needs than the other two. I think the Zipshot has it on quick setup.

The GoPro weighs 10.5 ounces whereas the zipshot weighs 11.

The new GoPro rig looks very versatile to me if used with an action camera but not a good substitute for certain shots if not.
The ZipShot is a bit short at 1.1m but good enough for group shots and most low light shots without having to tilt the camera too much.
At 50cm max the GoPro grip will not do that and of course can only hold a very light camera (like the GoPro…) when extended.
BTW, the ZipShot (extended legs together) is about the right height to be a good substitute for a trekking pole supported tent or to use for a tarp.

The heavier trailpix with third leg and a head is still light at 8oz. (not including trekking poles, assuming those are in base weight)

The zipshot beats the trailpix in ease of setup, but is more expensive. (again not including trekking poles)

The gopro thing could be compared to a gorillapod, it really just looks like a short stable base for small cameras (gopros).

The lighter version (Custom = only fits a brand name specific poles)weights 6 oz (with the accessory pole and ball head), and costs $60.

It can also be used on the end of a trekking pole as a camera boom, etc.

I bought the new GoPro 3 Way and really like it. Keeps me from also bringing a tripod and is definitely sturdy.

Not to bring up an old topic…

I also have the 3-Way for my Hero 3+ and love it! It is definitely one piece of gear I don't leave without when I grab my GoPro.
