    @goprogator

    Hey everybody,

    I'll try to keep this really short since I'm a newb to this stuff.

    I recently picked up the Nikon J1 for my adventures. I figured for $200 including the 10-30 and 30-110 and bag with a 3 month warranty it was worth the investment for a beginner.

    However there is another good deal going on right now for the D3200 + 18-55 + Lightroom 5 (which I don't have) for only $330.

    I guess my questions is: Will I miss the lightning auto focus and size/weight of the J1 or long for the IQ and control of the d3200? I know this is likely a personal call but just looking for opinions/experiences.

    OR should I just wait until the RX100 goes back on sale for $250 refurbished and sell the J1…

    ughhhhhhh this came out longer and stupider than anticipated.

    I would say keep it or move to the rx100

    I personally would not go with anything much larger. Right now i use my Nikon V1 mounted on my backpack strap with a capture clip and have a dashpoint 30 case to put it in when it rains. I find that it works well for the hikes that i do.

    As for the 30-110 lens i will probably leave mine at home most of the time unless i think it will be of use since i did not use it much on my longer hikes last year. was more dead weight then it was of use. If you do decide to take it it fits well in the dashpoint 20 cases

    As for lightroom if you can wait it can sometimes be found on sale for around 100$ or if you have an ipad you could consider the 10$ a month subscription which you give you lightroom for the ipad as well
