    Hey all,

I was hoping that someone could steer me to some good (and preferably free) resources for learning how to use Lightroom 4. Back in 2012 I picked up a copy in hopes that I could use the software to touch up the RAW images from my DSLR, but two years later the LR4 icon on my desktop continues to mock me.

In a prefect world I would remain in one place long enough to take a continuing education class on the subject, but unfortunately for me that just doesn't seem to be a viable option at the moment. With that possibility out the door the only two resources I can think of would be the Internet/YouTube or an actual book covering the ins and outs of LR4. So with that in mind does anyone know of a beginners guide to LR4, whether online or in print? Whichever option I choose it's really important that the tutorial start at the most basic of operations. We're talking "how to upload an image to LR", "how to organize your library", etc.

Right now I have well over a terabyte of images taken from the past two years of travel. And while well organized in my external hard drives; I would imagine that the more time I take to think through the organization process on the front end, the more I will thank myself later. As for the photo editing aspect, I'm of the opinion that less is more. So I'm not necessarily looking for the most nuanced of tutorials. Give me the bulk and I'll figure out the remainder.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    use google.

Or just get in and use it. I think once you get the organization down, you should just play. You can adjust color and exposure for fun.

For $20 I found this eBook to be extremely helpful. Plus there are additional tips on organizing photos, backup strategies, etc.

If you want to get deep into the weeds in Lightroom and post processing in general, the book The Digital Negative by Jeff Schewe is excellent.

I found that the website here was super helpful and in depth; especially regarding initial organization systems
