I took two pieces of shock cord and tied each end to the tab to create a loop. I attached the end of the loop to the suspension carabiner and used a microbiner to help hold up/close the gaps. Looks like it will work well. Going to give it a test run tonight or tomorrow I think.
(This is just my backyard hammock, I have a lighter biner for my other hammock)
The hard part is adjusting the tension on the bungees enough to seal the gaps without compressing the down to much.
Too much or too little can lead to CBS(Cold Butt Syndrome).
P.S. I think I have the same hammock stand and am taking it on a long cross country driving/camping/hiking trip. That way I can hang in RV parks and other car camping areas without trees.
