Locale: southern appalachians

I will be going to yellowstone/grand teton for nine days in september. Does anyone have any experince with actual battery life of this camera? I have an extra battery and a car charger I will probally have about 6 hours to recharge in the car during a resupply. I plan on taking about 600-900 photos.
