How can I show a video?

I'm not an expert but making videos about backpacking is my passion. I would like to post some of the videos I make. They are on youtube for now. Do I need to have them in another format or is posting videos something that people don't do here? Do I just have to put up a link.

To my knowledge, you can either post the YT link as plain text for people to copy and paste into the address bar or embed a link.

I know that with the BPL articles, the authors will on occasion embed the video but I don't recall seeing anyone do this here in the forums.

now the trick is what text to put in so it doesn't get translated
