I just won (I'm embarrassed to say from whom) a Canon SD1000 camera. Go, me. Very simple 3x zoom camera w/ a very good movie mode and pretty good auto exposure. It weighs w/ battery and card 143 g (5 oz.).
Built of metal and the size of a squished cig pack, it actually fits pretty well in my not-so-small hands and the controls are very well placed. The screen is huge and the camera also has, tah dah, an optical viewfinder! Too bad it is only 35 mm equivalent on the wide angle side. here's a review link— http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/SD1000/SD1000A.HTM
Guess this will be my new camera for SUL excursions and everyday pocketibility. Plus, the price was right! :-)>
