When I access BPL from some well-protected computers, most or all the ads are blocked by anti-malware software, i.e. the ads could infect my computer.
I dug into some of the blocked ads, and adsafeprotected.com seems to be the culprit.
When I looked for more info, I found this Google page which states in part:
Has this site hosted malware?
Yes, this site has hosted malicious software over the past 90 days. It infected 1 domain(s), including socialreader.com/.I'm worried about visiting BPL from less protected computers.
Has anyone else seen this?

Nov 21, 2013 at 8:20 pm #2047069I assume you'd be fine as long as you didn't click on any of the ads.
The same diagnostic report for this site is all clear.
Nov 21, 2013 at 8:35 pm #2047072What ads? I don't see no stinkin' ads! :)
I use Chrome browser — with two lovely extensions: Adblock and Ghostery.
Nov 22, 2013 at 10:21 am #2047174It is possible to become infected via an ad, especially from ad networks with less scrutiny over the ad's they disseminate.
Typically, a malware ad makes it onto some network. That ad makes it to a users browser. The malware usually attempts to exploit a known bug in the browser or one of it's plugins (adobe flash and pdf are notorious for this), if successful, well, boom, you have a virus!
Nov 22, 2013 at 4:47 pm #2047268I could give a crap about the ads, I just want the old forum search back.

Nov 22, 2013 at 5:50 pm #2047284There's ads on the right side of the page for anti malware software. Create a problem then offer to solve it.

I think we may have come up with a new category of diseases for the CDC: CTD's.*
* Cybernetically Transmitted Diseases

Nov 22, 2013 at 7:59 pm #2047317Ads — I really love the ads.
Especially for wrecking ball or some other thing from the Disney Channel. What that has to do with hiking is beyond me.

That link does work for me, but below is the link I see when clicking on search under forums and it is just a google search like the top box is.
