Well you could also put a cheap foam pad under what you have to add some insulation. Maybe not a long term solution but it might be good to test the concept. I've used torso length pads with R values of about 3 for the most part and I've done okay. Nothing about your case points defininatively to one cause or another so I'd hesitate to spend a lot of money till you experiment.
That is true. AND my new pack comes with a foam sleeping pad. However, I think I have come up with an even better idea. Take a look at the "negative weight pillow" thread in the gear section and let me know what you think.
