I'm interested in backpacking in the Trinity Alps within the next week or so. I'm thinking of taking a 4 or 5 day trip, preferably a loop. I'd like something with great scenery and perhaps with some nice fishing spots.
Big Flat TH to Caribou lake, then up and over Sawtooth Ridge and down to Emerald Lake, Sapphire Lake and Morris Meadows. You can go out to the Stuart Fork of Salmon River TH or start there, rather than Big Flat TH. It's not a loop, but it is insanely beautiful throughout.
These are the only areas I have been to in The Trinities and I can't imagine that you'd regret the experience.
