"What is your overall impression?"
Love mine. I've worn it for a few days straight with no real stink, and I tend to stink. Seems very, very durable, much more so than you'd think from how light it feels. And it's definitely the softest, most comfy T I've ever worn. I liked it so much I bought the boxers as well – same thing, most comfy briefs I've ever worn and I can wear them for a few days without worry.
I've worn mine quite a bit now, and, like Doug, I'm very happy with it. I actually don't find it quite as soft as Doug does. It's smooth, and even has a little bit of sheen to it, but it doesn't feel as soft on my skin as other polyester fibers like Coolmax. It doesn't bother me at all, though. It's very comfortable, absurdly light, and the durability of the material has really surprised me. My subjective assessment is that odor management is better than Coolmax. It's so light that the slightest breeze will paste it against you the way a stiff wind does with a normal shirt.
Also, I've never seen anything dry so fast.
Could you say something about sizing? I might try a l/s version.
I considered the Rohan tee, both long and short sleeved, and tried them in store three or four times. The only thing I didn't like was the shoulder seam. It is a) enormous and b) right across the top of the shoulder. Just too irritating for me. As an aside, their hiking shirts targeted at backpacking also suffer the same cheap construction technique. Back to the tee, I eventually went for a Rab Aeon. 105g in long-sleeve, same properties as the Rohan but better construction, just a smidge heavier. Top product.
Ito, I'm 5'10" and 155lbs, and a size medium fits me well (see the photo in the original post). The shirt is not exactly an athletic cut. It's a bit loose on me around the middle.
I haven't found the shoulder seams to be uncomfortable.
