PCT: Northern California, Oregon or Washington?

I'm going to do about 5 weeks on the PCT late July to end of August and I'm trying to decide on a 500 or so mile section. I need to begin/end at a place with relatively easy town/transport options so that getting there and away doesn't waste time waiting for limited public transportation schedules.

Any suggestions or input in deciding between northern CA, Or or WA? ie, is one more exciting or boring than the others, weather, water conditions, etc?
