I'm doing this loop with a friend of mine in the middle of July. Over Kearsarge Pass, over Gardiner Pass into Gardiner Basin, over 60 Lakes col into 60 lakes basin and out through Rae Lakes. Is the Tom Harrison Kearsarge Pass map probably my best bet for this trip?

First time into the Southern Sierra, most of my previous trips have been between Tahoe and Yosemite. Just moved to San Diego, so now's my chance! Looking forward to it.

    Thanks!

Harrison's maps are pretty good—we use them for lots of reasons.

But we also print out our own blow-ups of key spots on Acmemapper.com. IT's free, and very cool

Ya I've been using CalTopo to scout stuff out, I could never figure out how to save it to take to kinkos, but I just looked at it again and they now let you turn it into a PDF. Awesome.

A wide carriage color printer can be very handy in the home.
